I GOT THE JOB!!!!!!!

27 May 2007

July, get here already!

July is going to be an amazing month for me. Big Brother will premiere on July 5Th. I cannot hardly wait! This summer BB will have new producers and a fresher format. It is suppose to be the best season yet. I heard a rumor that Will and Janelle will be back as house father and mother. I hope not! As much as I love them, three seasons would be too much for the whispering duo!
On July 11Th, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix will hit the big screen. OotP is my favorite book of the series and I hope the movie version is just as good. On opening night, J and I went to the midnight showing of Goblet of Fire and did not get home until after 3 am. I don't think we will do that this time.Instead, we will get tickets to see it at the Imax. The last 20 minutes of the movie will be shown in 3-D. Fantastic!
Now, last but not least, the greatest date of July will be the 21st. On this date, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be released. Deathly Hallows is the final book in the seven book series. Everything will come to an end. All of the questions will be answered. It is such a bittersweet feeling. On one hand I am really excited to see how it ends, but on the other hand I am very sad that there will be no more books. You see,the Harry Potter books are what helped me through my last couple of years of college. It was my escape from all of the madness of research papers, book reports, and exams. HP helped me to clear my mind and relax. Since then, I have reread the series at least nine times. Every time a new book is published, I go back and reread the others to see the clues that I've missed. Or if there is nothing to do, I pick up a book and start reading. It never gets old for me. It's like spending time with an old friend. Nothing beats it!

Hmmmmmm...

Wow! While reading blogs and searching the Internet this morning, I came across this bit of information. It was written by Randall S. Smith and I thought it was very interesting. Some of this information I already knew, but I thought I should share it with everyone just in case it is new to you.

"To the extent that our Founding Fathers had any religious affiliation at all, it was a tepid embracing of the philosophy of deism, a popular system of thought at the time. Jefferson, Franklin, Paine, among many others, held deist, rather than Christian, religious beliefs. The two documents upon which our country was actually founded -- i.e., the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States -- contain not a word about Christianity, Christian principles, the Bible or Jesus Christ. Neither is there any mention of the Ten Commandments, heaven, prayer or being saved. In 1797, the Treaty of Tripoli, negotiated by none other than George Washington, declared that "the government of the United States is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion." Congress unanimously approved the text of this treaty, and John Adams signed it.Mandatory church affiliation, among other factors, led to the establishment of the term a "wall of separation between church and state," allowing, at each citizen's discretion, freedom of religion or freedom from religion. The phrase "under God" was added to the Pledge of Allegiance in 1954, and our national motto became "In God We Trust" in 1956 in response to USSRs' so-called "godless Communists." It is historically incorrect to claim that America was founded upon
Christianity.Indeed, it was quite the opposite."

I LOVE T.V.

I triple love Lost! Last nights two hour finale was fantastic. J and I tried to predict which character would die through out the entire show. Of course a bunch of the Others died, but Charlie was one of the central characters that bit the dust. I have to say that I was not too upset about his death. Charlie was a weird little sucker that got on my nerves from time to time.I'm just glad that Locke is still alive. The scenes between Locke and Ben are some of the best. I am also glad that they did not kill off Sawyer or Sayid. When they are in an episode I know that it is going to be good. It goes without saying that Lost has become one of my top 5 must see shows. It will be hard to wait nine months for the next season. I guess I will just have to get my fix through reruns! In the mean time, I am pumping myself up for summers greatest reality show, Big Brother! Now, I know that Big Brother is not the most popular of reality shows, but it is my all time favorite. I get the live feeds and watch it nonstop. It is extremely addicting! On some nights I would stay up watching the feeds until three or four in the morning. That's crazy, right?
Yeah, I know, I lead a sad life. BUT I LOVE IT!!!!!

Here is my Top 5 Must See list:
  1. Lost
  2. Heroes
  3. Greys Anatomy
  4. Entourage
  5. Prison Break

What's yours?

Job News

Whew! My days as a substitute teacher are finished. This last week was a very interesting experience. Ninth graders are a funny bunch. I'm not sure if they were any better then the seventh graders. Whatever! I'm just glad it's over.

Wednesday was my second interview and I think it went very well. The recruiter called and said she got great feedback about me. I am scheduled for a third interview on the 29th of this month. I hope this one goes just as well. I really want this job. I will post as soon as I find out.
Later!

Just catching up

Last week I substituted for my friend L while she was at a teachers conference in Vegas. I had a really wonderful experience. The kids at that school were bright and respectful. A complete change from the last school I substituted for. I will be back at the "good" school for seven days starting at the end of this week. I am really looking forward to it.
I didn't get the opportunity to teach the first grade class last week because I fell and bruised my back. I went to the doctor and he ordered x-rays to make sure I didn't break anything. Luckily I only had deep tissue bruising. I have been in bed since Wednesday night. Thankfully the muscle relaxers and pain pills are doing the trick. Today is the day I venture out into the sunlight. The family is getting together at my Grandmothers house to watch the Fireman's Fair Parade. It is the first time we are all together since my Grandfather died. I think it will be nice to see everyone.
I may be on my way to getting a new job. Friday I had a phone interview that I think went very well. All I have left to do is the face to face interview. I should be getting the call this week to schedule it. I am really excited! I hope that everything goes well.
All in all, things have been going okay. I will try to blog more and fill everyone in on whats happening. Hopefully I will have a new job the next time I post.
Wish Me Luck!
