Tonks

I love Halloween. There is something about dressing up in costume that makes me very happy. This year I'm dressing as Nymphadora Tonks ( the book version, not movie version). I have already started purchasing items. I've found the greatest bubblegum pink wig. It is perfect! The cloak will have to be made, so I am trying to find someone who sews. I'm also thinking of wearing a shirt with The Weird Sisters printed on it. If it all turns out the way I want it to, then it will look amazing. There are so many details that I'm concentrating on. It will take two months just to put it all together. In the mean time, I am trying to get J to agree to dress up with me. He can be someone from the Order. All he would need is a cloak and a wand. It wouldn't be that hard. I think it will be so much fun!

Good News

NO SURGERY!! I am so happy! The doctor said it will take some time for my ankle to heal, but I should be okay in a couple of months. For the next two weeks I have to wear this big, heavy, black boot to keep my foot in a certain position. It is very uncomfortable and it makes my ankle throb. I will also have to go to physical therapy as soon as the inflammation has subsided. Not too bad, huh?
Also, I am still waiting to get the all clear to be able to go back to work and drive. Hopefully that will be happening soon. I am tired of being home!
All in all, I got some great news. I will post about my progress soon.
Until then.....

Vanity

How many of you look at those glossy fashion/celebrity magazines and wish you looked like the people on the pages? I know I have from time to time. I guess it is kind of natural to compare ourselves to those we find attractive. As much as I know that no one is perfect, and that all those pictures in the magazines are retouched, I still find myself wishing I looked half as polished as these women. Well, today I came across a website for a professional retouching studio that shows before and after photos of celebrities that they have worked on. It is amazing how they can make a person appear at least 3 sizes smaller then their natural size! They can even add curves to people who are rail thin. I am embarrassed to admit that I enjoyed seeing the untouched photos. It made me smile to see that they looked like any other person off the street. Of course some are more naturally attractive then others, but that's life! I'm just happy to know that I'm not the only one with dark circles under my eyes. Yippee!
Anyway, if you want to check out these photos, and feel a little bit better about yourself in the process, go to www.iwanexstudio.com and click on portfolios. Just click on the little photos and drag the cursor over the picture. You will see the difference! Enjoy!

The results are in!

I just received the results of my MRI and it turns out that the ligament that connects my heel to my leg is torn. So, what's next? I now have to meet with an orthopedic surgeon to determine if I have to have surgery or not. Hopefully I will only have to do physical therapy. This all makes me very nervous. Either way, I know I will be in pain. This sucks! I want to get back to my normal life. Getting around on crutches is not fun. That is why I have not left the sofa since Friday. Anyway, I will update more after I meet with the orthopedist. Until then......

Update

So, I was not able to go to work on Friday. I still cannot put ANY weight on my foot and I am barely getting around on crutches. The swelling has gone down some and the side of my foot is a nice shade of blue-green. I am aiming to go back to work on Monday. Some tell me that that's an ambitious goal. I guess we will see.
In other news, I just found out that they are closing down my favorite restaurant at Epcot in Disney World. J and I eat at Alfredo's, in Italy, every time we are there. If I could choose what my last meal would be, it would be the calamari, Fettuccine Alfredo, and Italian Margarita from Alfredo's. It is so delicious! Disney decided not to renew their contract and a generic Italian restaurant will be taking it's place next year. I'm so sad! J and I thought we could eat there one last time before it closes, but we will not be able to. The restaurant closes in November and we will not be going to Disney until December. UUGGHH! I guess I will have to take a trip to Italy to eat at the original Alfredo's. Whatever!
